“The Taylor Swift of the organ” That’s how Anna Lapwood is being hailed by the German news providers such as NDR, Welt, and BR, because of her recent concert at Cologne Cathedral. Last Tuesday, the British organ sensation turned the iconic cathedral into the hottest venue in town. With a free concert on offer, more than 12,000 fans flocked to the cathedral that normally seats just 3,500. The queue? Over a kilometer long. The solution? Anna simply said, “Let’s do it twice!” and played two back-to-back concerts.
Anna blends film scores, classical repertoire, and even headlines Ministry of Sound events. She’s closed shows for Ludovico Einaudi and Raye, proving that the organ can be just as electrifying as any DJ set.
