Herbert von Karajan on DVD
Two new Herbert von Karajan: His Legacy for Home Video DVDs arrived in stores this week! Now available are Tchaikovsky's Symphony No.4 recorded in Vienna in 1984 and works by Debussy and Ravel recorded in Berlin in 1985, both with the Berlin Philharmonic. All titles feature interactive menus, 2-channel PCM stereo, Dolby Digital Stereo, liner notes and Karajan's biography in English, German and French.

Spend an Hour with Murray Perahia
Last month WNYC Radio in New York aired "An Hour with Murray Perahia: A Conversation with Music". Now you can hear the entire one-hour program online! Perahia's latest CD, Bach's Goldberg Variations, is nominated for two Grammy Awards (Best Classical Album and Best Instrumental Soloist). He continues his acclaimed explorations of Bach's music with an album of keyboard concertos due next month.
On the Road with Hilary Hahn
For two years Hilary Hahn has been sending Postcards from the Road describing her life as a touring concert violinist, both onstage and off. The latest entries to her popular online journal come from Germany, where she performed with the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, caught up with some old friends and colleagues, and explored the cities of Cologne and Braunschweig.

The classic musical comedy Bells Are Ringing opens up on Broadway this April for a revival, and in March you can own the expanded edition of the original Broadway cast recording starring Judy Holliday! Also coming to stores is the original 1971 London cast recording of Fiddler on the Roof starring Topol.

Two Golden Globes for Crouching Tiger
Ang Lee received the Best Director Golden Globe Award last Sunday for his highly acclaimed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which was also named Best Foreign Language Film! The film's score from composer Tan Dun was also nominated -- hear soundclips online from the soundtrack album, featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Coco Lee, and log on to chat with Yo-Yo on February 5 beginning at 9pm EST!
Chocolat Called an "Oscar®-Worthy Score"
The score for the new film Chocolat has been called "an Oscar®-worthy score" by Tracksounds.com, who added that composer Rachel Portman "has an uncanny knack of delivering very emotional music..." Chocolat was nominated for a Golden Globe and Portman's score for The Cider House Rules is up for a Grammy Award.
