as Glenn Gould does to Bach's Goldberg Variations.
It isn't hyperbole to call the piece the alpha and omega
of his career."

the 20th anniversary of his death, together with Legacy

Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto World Tour Reviews
"... he [Jobim] couldn't have wished for a better
interpretation...the evening's star -- aside, that is,
from the music itself -- was Paula Morelenbaum.
In sequins and chiffon, halo of curls softly backlit,
her achingly beautiful, pitch-perfect voice conjured
images of sunsets and cocktails by the sea and
probably -- not that anyone tore themselves outside
to check -- had birds looping in lazy circles above."
-- Jane Cornwell, Evening Standard, September 2002
"...the trio took the audience on a sophisticated and
subtle tour of Jobim's music. This was bossa-nova
for the mind as much as the body...If there was little
by way of dynamics to the arrangements, nevertheless
these accomplished, fine musicians managed throughout
to keep the audience spellbound."
-- BBCi.com
