Meyer Interview in Classic FM Magazine
"Edgar Meyer's 'Double Concerto' (1995) is particularly notable
for its final movement, which bases its Copland-esque invention
bar-for-bar on the structure of the finale of Mozart's violin-and-viola
'Sinfonia Concertante', while the solo bass concerto is more blues-orientated
with a touch of folk-fiddle in the finale. Giovanni Bottesini was one of the
greatest bassists of all time, as exemplified by his exuberant 'Gran Duo',
which gives both players a thorough virtuoso work-out...."
