NEW RELEASE: Yo-Yo Ma Plays John Williams
On Yo-Yo Ma Plays the Music of John Williams, Williams
wrote three of the four works heard with the world famous
cellist in mind. Ma also plays the recording premiere of
Williams' Elegy for Cello and Orchestra. The composer
orchestrated the work especially for this recording, and the
album is being released in celebration of John Williams'
70th birthday, which he celebrates this February. Listen
and learn more about the album.
John & Yo-Yo will be performing this repertoire
live in concert together at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 24.

"...he brings wit, poetry, and depth to this unexpected but
very welcome foray into SchubertÉVolodos brings personal
touches to these works that clearly reflect his affection for
Schubert's great keyboard works." -- Amazon.com,

Hilary Hahn's Tour Postcards: Amsterdam
"... the concertmaster, Alex Kerr, is a former classmate
of mine. He graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in
1992 ...Back then, he seemed to be all grown-up at the ripe old
age of 22, and he remembered me as being a little squirt, at the
age of 12..."
Read about Hilary's recent trip to Copenhagen in her postcards
from the road: HilaryHahn.com
"Hilary Hahn has given us a recording for the ages. The 21-year
old violinist offers some of the most vibrant, energized, and moving
playing that can be heard on today's concert stage...On a scale of 1
to 10, this is a triumphant 10." -- Seattle Weekly, February 2002
