Composer James Horner returns to the sea for the first time since Titanic (SK 63213) for The Perfect Storm soundtrack.
Academy Award® nominated director Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, Air Force One) directed and produced The Perfect Storm, an epic drama based on Sebastian Junger's best-selling book, starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Diane Lane and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
Based on a true story, the film tells of the courageous men and women who risk their lives every working day, pitting their fishing boats and rescue vessels against the capricious forces of nature. Their worst fears are realized at sea one fateful autumn, when they are confronted by three raging weather fronts which collide to produce the greatest, fiercest and most destructive storm in modern history.
James Horner won Academy Awards® for Best Score and Best Song for his work on Titanic. He has received Oscar® nominations for his scores from Apollo 13, Braveheart, Field of Dreams and Aliens, and Best Song for "Somewhere Out There" from An American Tail. He has scored well over 100 movies including Glory, Legends of the Fall, 48 Hours and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
The Perfect Storm soundtrack also features the song "Yours Forever", performed by John Mellencamp with music by James Horner and lyrics by John Mellencamp and George Green.
