The effort to record all of Stravinsky's works was one of the greatest achievements of Columbia Masterworks. The selections in this set are an excellent primer for anyone interested in the major scores of one of the century's greatest composers. All selections have been remastered and are also available on the Stravinsky Edition (SX22K 46290), the 22-CD set of his complete stereo recordings.

As a bonus we include rare 1940s recordings of several shorter works as gathered on the LP ML 4398 in 1950 and two stereo selections that were inexplicably left off the CD reissue of SX22K 46290. A 72-page deluxe booklet includes a new introductory essay by Stravinsky's friend and collaborator Robert Craft and excerpts from the original LP liner notes.

The Original Jacket Collection deluxe box sets offer handsome mini-jacket reproductions at CD size of the original LP jackets, celebrating the great legacy that is Columbia and CBS Masterworks in the 20th Century. Each set is a limited-edition, deluxe item, and each disc recreates the arrangement of repertoire on the original LP, with bonus material and an extensive 76-page booklet in three languages.
