This edition adds 12 new "must have" titles to the series. This release features The Brandenburg Concertos Nos.4, 5 and 6 performed on period instruments by Frans Brüggen, Gustav Leonhardt, Sigiswald Kuijken, and others. Volume 1 with Concertos Nos.1, 2 and 3 (SBK 61814) is also included in this new edition of Essential Classics titles. Other highlights include Anner Bylsma's landmark recording of the Bach Cello Suites (made in 1979) and Gustav Leonhardt's fiery renditions of Scarlatti Sonatas for harpsichord.
